TruConnect Collaborates with Qpay to Offer Customers the Option to Refill Mobile Data with Cash

Los Angeles, CA, May 19, 2016 With the recent launch of Truconnect’s Express Checkout which allows customers to activate their device and purchase data, TruConnect continues to focus on its mission of serving the underserved community by working with Qpay to offer customers a cash option to purchase Data Refills. Qpay is the industry leader in efficient payment processing solutions for customers without access to credit. TruConnect customers can now visit various Qpay locations in California and use cash to purchase Data Refill Cards.

ExpressPay allows TruConnect customers to easily and efficiently purchase Data Refills for their smartphones or other wireless devices as soon as they run out of data. Even with the immediate success of this new platform, TruConnect continues to strive for solutions that serve all customers, including those who prefer to use cash or those without access to credit. Lifeline customers are especially likely to use cash because many are without bank accounts, and TruConnect seeks to break through this barrier by teaming with Qpay to keep these customers connected.

Once their purchased data is used up, TruConnect customers are redirected to the ExpressPay site from their smartphones and hotspots to refill their data directly online. With the launch of the QPay-TruConnect collaborative, customers now have the option to locate a nearby QPay store location to conveniently purchase mobile data refill cards with cash so they can pay for their data refills.


California Lifeline is a state and federal government program that provides Lifeline wireless service and free government phones for low-income consumers, a life line ensuring everyone can stay in touch. The California Lifeline program is only available to consumers who can provide documentation for eligibility for government phones based on either income level or participation in public assistance programs including SNAP and Medicaid among others. Only one California Lifeline service for free phones is allowed per household.

Texas LifeLine is a state and federal government program that provides free government cell phone service to qualifying low income consumers. The Texas LifeLine program offers lifeline phone service to consumers who can provide documentation for life line freecell service eligibility based on either income level or participation in public assistance programs including SNAP, Section 8, Medicaid among others. Consumers may submit proof of eligibility for LifeLine online at TruConnect. Only one Texas LifeLine service is allowed per household.

TruConnect provides California Lifeline and Texas Lifeline supported free government cell phones and Lifeline phone service in California and Texas and is designated to offer this service, sometimes known as Obama phone, in 20 other states across the U.S with more to come.
