  • Nathan Johnson
    Co-Chief Executive Officer

    Nathan Johnson is an Owner and Chairman & Co-CEO of TruConnect, where he oversees the strategic vision and effective governance of the organization.  He has co-managed the overall operations and growth of the business with his brother for the last 15 years.  In concert with his duties at the company, Nathan is also a Founder and Managing Partner of Drake Star Partners, a global M&A Advisory Firm with offices throughout the US and Europe. In that role, he leads restructuring and bankruptcy advisory services. Among his past achievements, Nathan served as Director of Overseas Finance for GM’s Treasury Office in NY where he oversaw all M&A, divestitures and investments in Latin America. With an MBA and MA from the Wharton School & Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance and Multinational Management, Nathan’s focus at the Lauder Institute was a specialized international management program with concentration on fluency in Spanish and International Studies. Nathan was twice nominated finalist for E&Y’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was a finalist in the City of Los Angeles in 2015 and 2016.

  • Matthew Johnson
    Co-Chief Executive Officer

    Matthew led TruConnect to prominence as the 4th largest wireless lifeline company and fastest growing in the United States with over 600,000 customers nationwide, in his role as Co-Founder, Board Member, and Co-CEO. With his brother Nathan Johnson, Matthew built the company with both internal growth and acquisitions including Telscape Communications, Sage Telecom, and TruConnect Mobile among others. Along with his focus on TruConnect, Mr. Johnson is also a Managing Partner and Board Member of Drake Star Partners, a global technology investment bank headquartered in New York with offices in eight countries. A member of Young Presidents Organization ("YPO") and a two time finalist for E&Y's Entrepreneur of the Year. Matthew also serves as Chairman for UCP Wheels for Humanity, a non-profit supplying wheelchairs to disabled children and young adults globally. Matthew holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

  • Doug Lodder

    Doug leads the execution of TruConnect’s vision, including its growth and organizational goals. Known for his inspiring leadership style and personal commitment to building corporate cultures that empower employees and provide exceptional services to customers and consumers, Doug brings over 17 years of executive leadership in the  telecommunications infrastructure businesses. He has focused on scaling high-growth organizations. Formerly, the General Manager at Boingo Wireless, Doug oversaw the carrier’s services, multifamily, and legacy units and led a global team that increased Boingo’s revenue from $25M to $250M.  He is an active Board member for the Consumer Technology Association in Los Angeles. Doug previously served at Mobilitie, where he was responsible for strategy, acquisition, and development of telecommunications assets. His career also includes investment banking roles at Wedbush Securities. Doug holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a BS from San Diego State University.

  • Peter Roman
    Chief Financial Officer

    Peter spearheads TruConnect’s financial operations as the Chief Financial Officer.  He leads all accounting, finance, and treasury functions for the organization. Over the past 20 years, Peter held several leadership roles in both public and private companies both domestically and globally. His experience spans across industries, including telecommunications, software/SaaS, biotechnology, healthcare, professional services, and real estate. He served as Vice President of Finance at NanHealth, taking the company public in 2016 through an IPO. He also managed his own financial consulting practice, helping companies achieve revenue growth and profitability. Peter’s career includes leadership positions at Interush, Vistage International, and Ayala Land.  He was also nominated for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Award in 2021.  Peter holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business and a BS in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines (Cum Laude).

  • Danielle Perry
    Chief Compliance Officer

    Danielle is TruConnect's Chief Compliance Officer, where she is responsible for leading all compliance and regulatory related aspects of the organization. Ms. Perry maintains over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with 10 of those years being focused on the Lifeline program. She held senior management positions on both operations and technology teams, in addition to working closely with state and federal agencies on numerous integration projects. Prior to her tenure at TruConnect, Danielle served as the Chief Information Officer at Blue Jay Wireless.

  • Lucy Sung
    Chief Operating Officer

    Lucy is the Chief Operating Officer of TruConnect.  In her multi-faceted role, she leads the Legal, Customer Care, Sales Operations, and Billing Operations teams. Lucy is a proven executive team leader, with over 30 years of experience in the wireless telecommunications industry and 15 years of experience managing the operations and expansion of wireless eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs). She has held senior management positions in companies that include AT&T, among others. Lucy holds a BS in Business Administration.

  • Travlin McCormack
    Chief Technology Officer

    Travlin is TruConnect’s Chief Technology Officer, where he is responsible for our core technologies and systems, including web applications, software, networks, authentication, billing, business intelligence and IT infrastructure.
    Travlin is a deeply experienced LA technology leader with 20+ years in the industry. In his career, Travlin has worked for all different sizes of companies, managed team sizes of 100+, and worked with technologists in countries throughout the world. He was CTO of NewsCorp’s tech incubator, Slingshot Labs, and the founding CTO of CareerArc which launched three successful businesses in his 5-year tenure:, TweetMyJobs, and CareerBeam. Additionally, he was the CTO for digital publisher Evolve Media, where he oversaw the development and support of a technology platform that hosted over 30 proprietary websites, as well an assortment of business systems that supported the ad sales business. Most recently Travlin worked on Amazon AWS’s early stage start-up business development team where he created the AWS CTO Community Program which focused on supporting and engaging CTOs.

  • Aleksandr Gudkov
    Chief Information Officer

    Aleksandr is the Chief Information Officer for TruConnect and leads all initiatives related to business intelligence, data warehouse, and data analytics. Aleksandr brings over 18 years of experience in information technology supporting private, state, and local governments.  Over his career, he managed several large-scale integration and migration initiatives for the California Lifeline program, CEL childcare eligibility system, and Arizona APS energy income eligibility program. Aleksandr holds a MS in Nuclear Engineering from National Research Nuclear University, Moscow Russia.

  • Scott Ewalt
    Chief Experience Officer

    As Chief Experience Officer, Scott oversees TruConnect’s marketing, product management, and customer experience. Prior to TruConnect, Scott served as the Vice President of Product Management and Customer Experience at Boingo Wireless, where he managed the company’s commercial wireless product portfolio, including Wi-Fi, cellular, and location services. Scott’s is highly experienced in leading marketing, customer experience management, customer acquisition, product management, and e-commerce teams. He previously worked in digital marketing for Move Inc., the operator of, and in advertising on the Coca-Cola and McDonald’s accounts at agencies in Los Angeles and New York. Scott holds an MBA from Pepperdine University’s George L. Graziadio School of Business and Management, and a BA from University of Southern California.
