Meet The Team
Nathan Johnson is an Owner and Chairman & Co-CEO TSC Acquisition Corp, d/b/a TruConnect, where he oversees the strategic vision and effective governance of the organization. He has co-managed the overall operations and growth of the business with his brother for the last 15 years. Mr. Johnson is also a Founder and Managing Partner of Drake Star Partners, a global M&A Advisory Firm with offices throughout the US and Europe, where he leads efforts on restructuring and bankruptcy advisory. Prior to Drake Star Partners, Mr. Johnson served as Director of Overseas Finance for GM’s Treasury Office in NY where he oversaw all M&A, divestitures and investments in Latin America. Mr. Johnson received his MBA & MA from the Wharton School & Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance and Multinational Management. His focus at the Lauder Institute was a specialized international management program with concentration on fluency in Spanish and International Studies.
Mr. Johnson is a twice nominated finalist for E&Y’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was a finalist in the City of Los Angeles in 2015 and 2016.
Matthew Johnson is a Co-Founder, Board Member, and Co-CEO of TruConnect. TruConnect is the 4th largest wireless lifeline company and fastest growing in the United States with over 600,000 customers nationwide. Mr. Johnson, with his brother, built the company through a combination of internal growth and acquisitions including Telscape Communications, Sage Telecom, and TruConnect Mobile among others. In addition, Mr. Johnson is a Managing Partner and Board Member of Drake Star Partners, a global technology investment bank headquartered in New York with offices in eight countries. Mr. Johnson is a member of Young Presidents Organization ("YPO") and a two time finalist for E&Y's Entrepreneur of the Year. Mr. Johnson also serves as Chairman for UCP Wheels for Humanity, a non-profit supplying wheelchairs to disabled children and young adults globally. Mr. Johnson holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellog School of Management.
Mr. Lodder is President of Sage Telecom Communications, LLC d/b/a TruConnect. Mr Lodder has over 17 years years of executive experience leading telecommunications infrastructure businesses, focusing on large-scale, high-growth organizations, and an active Board member for the Consumer Technology Association in Los Angeles. As General Manager at Boingo Wireless, he oversaw the carrier’s services, multifamily, and legacy units and led a global team that increased Boingo’s revenue from $25M to $250M. Prior to Boingo, he served at Mobilitie, where he was responsible for strategy, acquisition, and development of telecommunications assets. His career also includes investment banking roles at Wedbush Securities. Doug holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a BS from San Diego State University.
Peter spearheads TruConnect’s financial operations as the Chief Financial Officer. He leads all accounting, finance, and treasury functions for the organization. Over the past 20 years, Peter has held several leadership roles in both public and private companies. He has extensive domestic and international experience in multiple industries, including telecommunications, software/SaaS, biotechnology, healthcare, professional services, and real estate. He served as Vice President of Finance at NanHealth, taking the company public in 2016 through an IPO. He also managed his own financial consulting practice, helping companies achieve revenue growth and profitability. Peter’s career includes leadership positions at Interush, Vistage International, and Ayala Land. He was also nominated for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Award in 2021. Peter holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business and a BS in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines (Cum Laude).
Ms. Sung is the General Manager of Global Operations for TruConnect and leads the Legal, Compliance, Customer Care, Sales Operations, Human Resources, and Billing Operations teams. She has over 30 years of experience in the wireless carrier industry, and has 15 years of experience managing the operations and expansion of wireless ETCs. She has held senior management positions in companies that include AT&T, among others. Ms. Sung holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Gudkov is the Chief Technology Officer for TruConnect and leads all Business Intelligence, data warehouse, and data analytics technology related initiatives. Mr. Gudkov has over 18 years of experience in information technology supporting private, state and local governments. He has managed several large-scale integration and migration initiatives for the California Lifeline program, CEL childcare eligibility system, and Arizona APS energy income eligibility program. Mr. Gudkov holds a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from National Research Nuclear University, Moscow Russia.
Mr. Ewalt is the Chief Experience Officer for Sage Telecom Communications, LLC d/b/a TruConnect and is responsible for marketing, product management, and customer experience. Mr. Ewalt spent the last 11 years in various leadership roles at Boingo. His specialties include customer experience management, customer acquisition, product management, e-commerce. In his last role at Boingo as Vice President of Product Management & Customer Experience, Scott managed the company’s commercial wireless product portfolio, including Wi-Fi, cellular, and location services. Prior to Boingo, Scott worked in digital marketing for Move Inc., the operator of Realtor.com, and in media on the Coca-Cola and McDonald’s accounts at ad agencies in Los Angeles and New York. Scott holds an MBA from Pepperdine University’s George L. Graziadio School of Business and Management, and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Southern California.
Mr. Sterngold is the Chief Revenue Officer for Sage Telecom Communications, LLC d/b/a TruConnect and is responsible for business development and account management. Mr. Sterngold has spent the last 20 years as a leader in the wireless telecommunications industry. His experience includes managing a global consumer retail and media business, development of network infrastructure and international business development. Mr. Sterngold also has extensive experience working with state and local governments. Zack holds an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at San Diego. Mr. Sterngold is also a licensed Professional Engineer.
Danielle Perry is the Chief Compliance Officer and is responsible for leading all technology related aspects of TruConnect, from software development to system integration. Ms. Perry has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with 10 of those years being focused on Lifeline. She has held senior management positions on both operations and technology teams. She has worked closely with state and federal agencies on numerous integration projects. In her previous position she was the Chief Information Officer at Blue Jay Wireless.
